Why Pediatric Physical Therapy?

Pediatric Physical Therapists have specialized education and experience working with children, making us the experts in development and treatment of pediatric disorders. Children are not “mini adults” and are most successful with treatment that is tailored to their unique needs. Pediatric Physical Therapists use a variety of treatments in conjunction with play to improve the function and daily lives of babies and children.

Does my Child Need Physical Therapy?

We recommend an evaluation when:

  • You have been told by your child’s medical provider that they need PT

  • Your child has received a medical diagnosis that can impact development

  • You are concerned about your baby’s (under 12 months old) head shape

  • You have noticed your baby cannot move their neck well or prefers one position

  • Your baby has a tongue tie or lip tie that is impacting feeding, including pre and post release care

  • You are on the waitlist for services at another facility but don’t want to delay treatment

  • Your child is in daycare and needs to meet certain motor milestones to move up

  • You have any concerns about your child’s development at any age!

Even when a baby or child does not have a medical diagnosis, pediatric physical therapists can support gross motor development and address parent concerns. Every child deserves to move and play to the best of their ability!
