We work closely with pediatricians, specialist physicians, speech/occupational therapists, lactation consultants, orthotists, doulas, midwifes, chiropractors, and other medical professionals to identify developmental concerns or risk factors. We work within the medical team to support development of strength, coordination, alignment, and so much more to positively impact long term motor function.
At Bloom, we focus on supporting patients from birth through age 10. We will work with older patients on a case-by-case basis. See a list of commonly treated diagnoses below.
Our clinic model allows us to minimize wait times and logistical barriers to families in order to intervene early and maximize progress. We are able to offer fully customized treatment plans, wether we are a child’s only therapist or in addition to other therapy services.
We are the only pediatric therapy provider in Southern Arizona who provides therapy intensives to accelerate progress! Check out our services page for more details on intensives and who they benefit.
We are trained to perform the Prechtl General Movement Assessment which provides early identification of neuromotor dysfunction and high likelihood of Cerebral Palsy diagnosis. Early identification of at risk infants allows them to start therapy services at a much younger age, leading to improved long term functional mobility.
In addition to physical therapy services, we offer developmental support to families who have general questions about motor development, are generally anxious about their child meeting milestones, or for infants with very minor concerns that can be treated at home to prevent delays. These services are also strongly recommended for any infant born before 37 weeks gestation, or infant with medical complications and/or prolonged hospitalizations at birth as these infants are at higher risk for developmental delays. If these infants are not able to receive care through a NICU follow up program, we are able to perform a developmental screen every few months and educate caregivers on how to support their infants unique needs to prevent or minimize developmental delays.
